I have a 08 450 and have had this problem once about 8 month ago and now.
I have been riding in the bush fanging and it's all going great then.
Everything is sort of ok but the exhaust noise change to a bbbeeerrr and it's gutless when giving it more than say 1/4 throttle or more then it just feels like the brake is on and it will back fire & flames come out the exhaust. can do about 80KM/H no prob cruising on road.
Give it a stab in neutral and it's back fire and flames.
I get it home wash it and fire it up and it's fine goes like a new one. 8O
