Back in August, something just wasn't right. Started rough, and ran rough. Top end noises and the such. Also wasn't shifting very well at all.

Dissasembled top end. Knew enough to order new rocker bearings before I got into it, since I had never changed them before, nor had the previous owner.

Removed rocker bearings only to find that both had missing needles. One had one missing, the other had two missing. Bike still ran though... I also noticed that my rockers were getting worn on the inside wall of the fingers which the rocker bearing shaft presses into. Not good. Took a small file to it and touched it up as good as I could. Reinstalled new bearings. Reassembled head.

Also took apart the shifter, only to notice that both the plates that actuate the drum were bent very slightly. Both were also worn, I think the carbuerization (these are carbuerized, if I do recall on earlier posts, right?) is certainly worn, and will require my attention at the end of the season. What was happening was I would be able to shift up, but when I wanted to shift down, the shifter must have still be stuck in the up position, for I would have to give a slight nudge to the shifter towards the upshift position before it would allow me to downshift. Major PIA!!!!

End result: Top end sounds wicked nice. I only hear the standard motor gear noises. Shifts wonderfully after bending everything straight and filing wear surfaces smooth.

Also noticed, 3 clicks left on my cam chain tensioner (phew, next season)!!! Clutch basket needs a bit of filing/machining/replacing off-season, since neutral is still hard to find whilst running.
