What would a Aux. fuel tank need to cost these day's? I'm looking around for one but the price varies a lot between the dealers! Is it true that these tanks are not being produced anymore? Maybe someone has one laying around in a garage corner somewhere...???

Thanks.

I paid $195.00 (US) for mine some four years ago. It's been worth every penny! Brought my fuel capacity up to 3.25 US gallons. I've installed it on my 2005 FE550 and recently rode 100+ miles of woods riding before running dry.

mine was free. i'm also the only one here from europe answering your question. i don't think they're needed (at all) much over here so there may be some gold in someone's cupboard...

Ok, this means that there is a huge price difference! My local dealer asked me a whopping 280.00 Euro.... ($ 300.00??) for a new one! I will make some phone calls to try to get it cheaper! So if someone has a spare one or doesn't use his or hers aux. tank anymore please let me know!
And yes Taffy, I agree that in Europe we don't really need them but I'm preparing for a desert trip again.... (can't wait!) And the fuel consumption together with the small tank was my only concern last time.

Can't be that expensive unless it's full.... I assume that the tank is light weight so the costs would be more volume then weight.
Do you have one Kzoo?

Not sure what kinda tank you're talkin about but I got a aux. tank that goes where the front number plate is. It's a 1.3 gallon tank and it cost me about $50.

they're for sale occasionally on european ebay.

get it sorted and i'll bring it as hand luggage. you just gotta collect it in person that's all and then keep me in beer vouchers!!!!

Thanks for the input, I just bought one via a Dutch kind of "EBAY" site for 65,00 Euro. Seems like a good deal considering what they are asking for a new one! I think that it's a rare occasion that there was one for sale anyway.
Davester8022; It's a tank that mounts in the space where normally the airbox would be, so around the back shock.

Thanks guys!
