Are FS fork springs shorter?

I've picked up an 05' FE650 and want to swap springs front and rear with the motard.

FS is stock and I was going to use the 88-250 and the 4,8 fork springs in the FE.

I was going to respring the FS for my weight anyway, and if the fork springs are the same length it should be real close to ideal.

The FE has the preload really cranked up. Static sag is 25mm race sag with gear is 111mm.

It's a 80-250 spring, And I'm sure the forks are untouched (4,2 springs)

I'm 195 pounds (88 kg) with gear 220 pounds (100kg) riding on paved, and dirt roads, single track and gnarly rocky trails at times. bike at a good clip, but still learning.

I think the FS springs will get me real close. What say ye?

Thanks

I had stock fe and fs springs out, and they looked identical in length. Your analysis of the spring rates seems spot on. I was going to use the fs springs in my dirt bike but opted for the race tech 48's I had, which is almost too much spring. That is why I know FWIW.

cheers

The shock length is difrerent length 401mm for fe/fc vs 390mm for fs this may affect things same with front 546mm vs 51mm long.
