I stumbled across this manufacturer of aftermarket fuel tanks. They make large capacity safari/adventure tanks.

It appears they are made in Victoria Australia. Perhaps some Australian members can find out more about the company. Clarke and IMS will not be making a tank anytime soon.

Send them an e-mail http://www.safaritanks.com.au/

Hi husabutt !

I contacted Aqualine about 3 or 4 months ago- gave them the whole scenario regarding Berg tanks.

there are a couple of posts in one of the big tanks for bergs topics

Basically, Aqualine are not interested. Gave no reasons why, but low return for initial investment is probaly one of them.

Just for the record, GYTR(Yamaha genuine parts and accessories division) now sells 15.5 and 25 litre Aqualine tanks as a Yamaha Accessory.

Its a pity someone in the Berg hierarchy or marketing didnt have the smarts to do the same- Im sure a small aussie company would jump at the chance of a corporate order/supply deal, as they have done with Yamaha.

We need to find out what the minimum quantity would be for these guys to be interested. How much it would cost. Then we need to pre-order. Put money in a PayPal account. Have the distributors put money down for a few of them as well. Then call them back and tell them: "Here... money... want it?"

Just like how we finance this site, somewhat.

I would suspect that a firm pre-financed order of 50 units would be enough to make a couple manufacturers tick. Even if they just break even.

It's only the second time I am making the suggestion, last time nobody really took it seriously, yet I have a strange feeling it would work.

We need someone who can do it with a quantity of 50. It would be hard, but doable. 200 would be virtually impossible without KTM supporting it. I don't see how they could not sell at least 100 a year worldwide if they add it to their catalog.

Which means that we can also petition KTM.

My guess is that they'd hate to see Husies show up at rallye races and get more attention than they'd like.

An FE650 could do well in the Dakar race (by doing well I mean actually reaching Dakar).
