Anyone using a quicker throttle?

Anyone swapped out the standard throttle for a quicker turn model?

Where from?

How much etc?

How did it work out?

OEM one on the 390 makes for adjustments with the hand on the throttle when standing up = pain in the arse.

I have a G2 on my FE570, I use the #400 cam. The KTM one is made by G2 but does not have the Delrin inserts. I tested the quicker cams, and they were very quick! If you are looking for a quicker throttle response you will be happy.

Thanks for the info.

What I am after is not having to adjust my hand on the throttle to get full range of acceleration on the 390 so the Quick Turn looks like it is what is required. Will do some more reading over there re the switchable cams too.

I use the KTM hardparts aluminum throttle tube that comes with three different cams.
The slow is great for technical riding, have not used the other ones yet.

Mark, from your experience, will the G2 Quick turn throttle make the bike too responsive?

I am more after a decrease in throttle rotation than increased throttle response. Can you have one without the other?

Do they do the milder cams to suit the Quick Turn throttle as well? Does the Quick Turn fit ok inside the standard throttle assembly? Thanks.

On my bike (FE570) and my skill level with either the #100 or #200 Cam I would have to say yes. It's not something that would work well in the woods. IMO

Yes, You would want the #400 cam, that's the woods version. It decreases the pull ratio. Another thing you can do is loosen the throttle tube bolts, and rotate the entire assembly back just a tad, this doesn't effect the ratio but may help prevent accidental over throttle if for no other reason than to crank it wide open your arm would not be in your normal riding position. Even with the G2 installed I do this and it seems to help me from turning the throttle on steep downhills.

The entire assembly fits fine in the stock housing, but it's also critical to adjust the cable slack at the throttle body. When I first installed mine, I was not happy as I noticed very little change, but the fella that makes the G2 read my post and contacted me to let me know to do that and it helped allot. It was excellent customer service!

Thanks for that info, just what I was looking for.

Will check all the adjustments and positions first.

Fitted the G2 quick throttle with great results, thanks for the info.

Quick throttle is good for MX and the like, but for general trail riding it can be a killer in the wrong hands. Get a bit untidy over the whoops or logs and one little twitch of the throttle hand will launch you to outer space .....

I find the 390 pretty mild compared to the 450 and 570 so haven't found a problem with it yet, would look at a 3 or 4 cam if I was riding one of them.

I find it just keeps it in the 390's power band a bit easier than the standard throttle.

I have the motion pro quick throttle on my 2011 570 what a difference awsome it has 4 differnt cams and throttle cable adjustment up top so you can interchange your cams to what suits your riding terrains easy .

Yep, only just saw that one in your thread, would have bought it otherwise. Bugger.
