Anyone try the FMF megabomb yet?

I think they should of offered it in stainless first instead of titanium for durability and cost. Their reasoning is they wanted to test the market for the volume sold but their logic doesn't fly with me seeing how most husaberg are used off-road. I would not purchase unless it was offered in stainless steel. 2010 FE 450

FMF's header does include the mid pipe however as the Akro is only the header. If I could get a deal on it I'd probably try it. I'd just like to hear someones experience with it before pulling the trigger.

I've had the MegaBomb on now for 3 weeks and using the FMF PowerCore 4 canister. I was using the stock pipe with a FMF Q prior to this setup. There is a marked power improvement everywhere. My 2010 FE450 has way stronger off idle power and a capable over-rev which is very uncharacteristic of this motor. I'm not sure how well the stock can would mount up, as the mid pipe comes down lower than the stocker....almost touching the brake switch....but I didn't try it. Even mid RPM roll-on is much stronger with the new exhaust. It does bother me that it's made of such a susceptable material, but I would imagine a stainless exhaust scrotum would fold up with a direct hit as well. I'm really curious to see Tahoe's dyno results on his 570 because it did amazing things for the 450....at least seat of the pants results. I see the front fender way more often now!!

Derbo, why did you pick the Powercore versus the Q? Is it to have the removable quiet core?

i'm trying to figure out all the options. Looks like the Powercore weighs less, but that's probably due to not having the quiet core in?

(I've asked this at ktmtalk and haven't gotten a response there yet, just looking for some experience with the different mufflers)

I'd be sticking with the stock header and need a spark arrestor and the quiet core. (It would be nice to have the option to pull it though...)

I was really happy with the Q.....I came to own the PowerCore by accident. My wife ordered it for me for Xmas with the MegaBomb header. The guy at FMF talked her into the PowerCore 4 saying it provided better HP gains over the Q and would let the header do it's job better. She thought she was doing a really good thing.... I kept it it to try it out. My Q was a take off from another bike that didn't mount up well.....so I wanted a new one. I really liked the Q and can say it was better than stock everywhere. The PowerCore is still lighter with the insert than the Q is but the insert does very little to tone down the barky sound.....it's fine if you're just rolling on throttle or keeping it in the lower R's, but whack the throttle open and it's louder than what I'm accustomed to for trail use. I might be getting another Q in the next few weeks. If I do, I'll post up what my impressions between the two are.
