Hey Faktor,

please keep this thread updated with the response from Husa Aus.

Please try to keep them as un-biased as you can as we will probably never hear their side of the story apart from you.

It'll be interesting to see what they say.

My belief is the response will be something along these lines:

"Dear Mr factor,

The bike has done 89 hours.

the factory recommended replacement time for the conrod bearings is 60 hours.

the parts have failed due to exceeding the recommended factory lifespan of these parts".
I could be wrong ,and hope that I am.,

And good on faktor for pursuing the issue, will be interesting to hear the response.

I rang husaberg Australia and as stated by Ausberg that is basically exactly what they said.
(I did mention to them my little exert about KTM at the bottom here)

They did not want to help in any way, shape or form.

Am a little unsure why guys i know have had parts from KTM at cost or free when they experienced similar failure to mine at such kms or hours.

I am in limbo at the moment with the Brand as I have been Berg through and through.......

faktor,
the only way I have recieved parts at cost is through a dealer. So it wasnt the distributors missing out on anything, it was just the dealer who was prepared to forgo his markup on those parts to try and maintain some goodwill.

Only buy what parts you have to in Australia- source the rest (mains, valves etc) as KTM parts ex USA.

If it were me, I'd take up whosa's rodkit offer (if he still has it) to do it cheaper compared to what its potentially gonna cost you.......

ok here we go ....

how can the 05 model which has the bottom end' improved' for reliability , semi fail ?

i know of 05 models going over 200 hrs , no problems . as most know my 04 did 165 hrs when
i decided to rebuild just to be safe .

phacter , if you need a like new , with very minimal wear , 04 conrod kit , it's yours .
for a 1/5th of the price .

in regard to the 05 bottom end [ as above ] if they fail they seem do do it very early , it is strange to me that at 89 hrs it's worn .

i have never seen this happen , as anybody else ?

faktor... it's a shame about husaberg not willing to help , but at least i warned you what to expect .
