Hi guys,
I have already done this:
I have rebuilt a 400ccm engine with the 100mm cylinder and piston from woessner.
I took the cylinder head of the 501 and that was all.
The power of the engine is good, but not that much like the ´04 450.
But on the other hand the power is maybe easier to control. And maybe I have a bit more torque but the 450 is quicker when reviting.
My next step would be to bore out the in and outtake valve seats and use bigger valves. But right now I think it´s not necessary.
In fact, I had a 501 before and have a crankcase on stock, also a 501 crankshaft, used cylinder and piston (95mm diameter) and also a new cylinder. I would also think about to get rid of these parts
I´m not sure if it´s the right way to use the 400 cylinder head on a 501,
but because of a damage and no other available parts, a guy here
in my region, has already done this.
The 501 engine also runs with the 400 head, maybe with some lack of power......
