I joined the berger club and I love it. I have come from a jap back round so its taking some getting use too. Going down the biggest steepest tracks im finding it hard to wash off speed. A few hairy moments I can tell you. I have to keep letting the brake go to stop it from locking. Not sure how to fix this? I stacked it today doing this. Im finding myself in the worst ruts all the time. Maybe I need to play with the clickers again. I have them all on sports.
Anyway I love the bike and have leared alot from reading here.

Welcome to the forum, The 570 is a great bike and will always put a smile on your face :bounce3:

Know that feeling all too well on my FE450!!!!!

Unfortunately...I got bitten!!! But I still love my FE450!!

PRACTICE feathering your brakes down hill, get a good feel for the lever movement front and rear as apposed to how much the brake will work, if you understand what i mean. Don't just grab a hand full like you would on the jap crap, the brembo's are far more superior and will lock up easily.
I can pull up on some of the most snotty and steep hills without a problem,
Also good tires help with this as well as your body position.

Have fun you have selected a great bike. I love mine.

I'm pretty used to her now. I have played with the clickers and bar hights. I think I could go a little harder springs since i'm 115kgs before I put my gear on. On some big overgrown hills I have boiled her a bit. So the fan is going on. Should fix that so I have read here. I'm having so much fun it should'nt be allowed :bounce3: I love the horsepower. Its just that the knobbies are flying off. At my mate head on his 530.

Re downhills, I am still learning but:

- I went down a tooth on the front cog,so engine braking slows the bike down,
- I stand up with weight back of seat,
- I tell myself never to use the back brake,it locks and bike goes sideways. Feather front brake only.

FWIW I prefer to pull the clutch in on slow gnarly downhills, the engine breaking just complicates the issue, and if you stall it it can get messy. The front brake will do most of the speed control, and the back will be a bit of a rudder.
