Another LED indicator thread.

So after deciding that the indicators on my 08 FE650 are about the worst design in the world (the bulbs don't seem to fit the sockets properly and I am constantly having to pull them apart and fix them) I have decided to go with LED's as I'm hoping they will be more vibration friendly. I brought these ones here on monday http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/320937341229 ... 1497.l2649 and just finished installing them. Now I know I probably should have installed a resistor but I figured they would just blink faster until I got one. It seems I was wrong, I tested them as I installed as either the indicator or the berg was retarted and decided that the black wire as the + one. I got 3 installed and all seemed to be working well, I then installed the front left one and now I get nothing. The LED's come on really dull and don't flash. Is this as a result of there being no resistance in the line now? If I get an LED flasher off ebay is this going to fix my problem??

I did buy these ones too and you need have a resistors in the back two only is fine. You may have shorted them or have - and + around the way or the relay flash unit may have shorted and need replacing These type you have also come apart and the wire disconects also the leds move on the inner clear cover and make them go dull after a short time and also break where rubber connects. I ended going back to a normal indicators but a better type than orginal berg ones. Good luck been there dont that lol.

Nah my polarity is definitely correct. It was all working fine until I installed the last indicator, I think I may have shorted the flasher. As they are running dim and not flashing at all. Sucks to hear that these are crap, although they were about the cheapest on ebay in Australia. If these die early I guess I'll just have to fork out the $$$ for a decent set.

Your correct its the flasher i did the same to mine but since getting resistors didnt have a problem. Where in OZ are you?

So I went to Jaycar and they said that installing resistors were not a good idea. Looking at buying a new flasher off ebay, I'm 90% sure it's the box behind the headlight with the 2 wires coming off it. Can anyone confirm this for me, just trying to work out if I need a 2 or 3 prong one. Assuming since the bike has a battery it only requires a 2 prong one. Trying to find a wiring diagram for this damn bike

Also I'm located in Townsville.

Nevermind, It's at the very back of the owners manual =P 2 prong it is

Yeah, I brought the flasher off Ebay, told the guy I needed it asap, and ticked the express postage option. I then get an email the next day saying that they have sent it and the express postage was too expensive and they are refunding me the extra $4. ******* A$$holes.

If this still doesn't work it seems I'll just have to fork out the cash for a decent set. I just want some that can handle the vibration.

So my indicator saga continues. The original set I purchased off ebay had no rubber in them, just plastic so when I brushed past it, one snapped. I then brought a set of metal ones off a website however the thread on them was ********* and were constantly vibrating loose, then ultimatley one of them snapped. I purchased 2 from the local bike shop to get me out of trouble and was shown these. http://www.clicknride.com.au/ they are pricey but I am going to give them a crack since I installed the 2 new ones, and my ebay flasher has died. However I seem to have lost my OEM flasher and cannot seem to find a part number for a new one. Can any of you berg gurus point me in the right direction, I really don't wanna buy a chinese one.
