alright here is my problem. everything is in perfict order on my bike...supposably. It is a 2002 fc470 All the parts are fairly new everything is adjusted correctly becaues it use to be used every weekend but hasent been in about six months and the bike wont kick start now. but if I pull start it works fine.... any thoughts on what this means for my finanical feuture? and one more thing b4 I stoped using the bike every weekend it was the easiest starting berg between all of my berg riding buddys, any ideas would help please.
thanks!

Sounds eerily like stator. I have an FC 600 and it was a bear to start although it would bump start quite nicely. I checked the spark and it was definitely weak so I sent my stator off to Sparks. In the meantime, I installed the stator from my spare FE501 engine with a known good stator and it's SUPER easy to start now. Can't wait for my Sparks stator to arrive.

It kind of sounds like the '02 FE650 I used to have when the stator was failing. It wouldn't produce enough spark at kick starting speed to fire the motor but if you did get it started ran fine until you shut it off. I got a new ignition from BOSS and it started real easy after that. It seems like the new stator was about $350-$400.

Bergman, if your bike use the SEM stator I suggest you rewind it. Contact Sparks. My FE501e '02 star pretty well. Good luck !!

Thanks. I was praying it wasent the stator, but I'm sure it is thanks for the info.
