The wheels are in motion to get us to the season finale in Las Vegas. Bikes are being spiffed up, people are getting on planes, and we're preparing to go. We'll have two guys on Husabergs at the final round, Graham Cheney from Australia, and Olivier Annequin from France. You've heard a lot about Cheney - Olivier is the number one ranked Vet rider in France, and he's also a moto-journalist for a couple of publications whose names I can't pronounce. Great guy, very tough, and lots of heart.

I will try to send out some IM / email updates during the course of the weekend, so if you'd like to be on my text message list, send me an SMS on 4152839842 and I'll put you on the list. An email to: [email:2llyu642][email protected][/email:2llyu642] may get you on the list too, but I'm not certain of that.

The final race will be a tough one, as we expect lots of cherry-pickers coming over from Europe to race the Unlimited class (it is the more popular class in the World Championship). But we hope to do well.

Thanks to all for your support.

Best regards,

Brett Saunders
Husaberg-USA

Hopefully we'll see a couple of yellow husey's up in front of the sea of orange. My 4 yr old daughter points out all the Husky's and the 'berg whenever she sees them (on OLN coverage of the races). Le's get more up front and thus camera time for the marque. Best of luck to you!!!

would there be any chance of some video getting to this site would love to see the bergs in the pits and out on the track

cheers doug

(ps) good luck fellas

Broken collarbone, broken heart.

Looks like Graham Cheney won't make the trip as he broke his collarbone during this weekends race.

His collarbone is broken, as is my heart.
We'll still have a Husaberg-USA bike out on the track, Frenchman Olivier Annequin on the 108 bike, but it really hurts to have Cheney on the sideline. I have been frantically searching for a qualified racer to ride the #9 bike in Vegas, but time is very tight. If anyone knows a racer who is qualified for the final and looking for a ride, please have them call 877-650-BERG.

Anyone who would like race updates over the course of the weekend, send me a text message - 415 283 9842 or email [email:2ape7um3][email protected][/email:2ape7um3]

Cheers,

Brett Saunders

Hoffman didn't want another go at it? Have you tried Jason Chisum, Pearce, Ayler, or Tarquin?

How about this guy, he did well on his first outing and doesn't look to be commited to a bike brand.

200 Johnny A Murphree Paso Robles, CA

I would volunteer if I only had the skills to compete at that level in Supermoto. Unfortunately I have zero experience in that department. Maybe someday. However, if you ever need a desert racer, I think I could provide those skills adequately enough.

Lightbulb.

You know, that's not a bad idea.
Johnny is a true-blue Honda guy (is that a contradiction in terms ?), but he rode a KTM at Del Mar. It's worth a shot.

Thanks

Wow, Deja Vu! 8O
As Kenny Noyes, Pascal and Johnny are both Lineaweaver / Husaberg Alumni. I constructed ice racers for Pascal and sponsored Johnny in the late nineties.

Murphree.jpg

Lineaweaver / Husaberg mounted Johnny Murphree (aka "Showtime") San Jose, Ca. circa 1998.

When in need of a pilot please be sure to give me a call as many present and former GNC experts are personal friends.

Sorry to learn of Grahams injuries.
Best of luck in Vegas.

Kind Regards,
Dale

"I constructed ice racers for pascal" I think I will start paying closer attention to everything you write.....nsman

One of two Husaberg engines I prepared for Pascal.

Pascal went on to further develop the Husaberg for ice racing though ultimately in the end made the transition to KTM based equipment.

Dale

Looks like the supermoto finale was an anti-climax for Husaberg. It was great to see a 'berg out there breaking up the sea of orange.

Ice racing

Hmmm....I also find this VERY interesting.

Dale, I won the Canadian National Championship in the Intermediate class in ice racing in 2000, ran top 5 in the Pro class the next year and then hung up my ice racing gear.

I'm addicted to pounding out laps on the ice and have been going through serious withdrawl!! I have also tossed around the idea of beating on Jedhi to get some support to jump back into competition next year in Eastern Canada.

I may be very interested in shipping you a Berg motor to tweak for the ice. Is this something that would interest you?

p.s. nsman...we live only hours away. We should plan a ride together sometime.

ride with a guy who calls himself coffin?

Hi Coffin,I do not know if we have met or not, most of the guys that I know from N.B.are from the moncton area.I promote the "Barkbuster Club" hare scramble series at Chipman Brook,N.S.Over the last five years many N.B. ers have competed in that series, but I have not met them all. What part on N.B. do you call home?I live near Wolfville,N.S.,and my dealership is Valley Yamaha-Suzuki.I trail ride most weekends and have a few really nice loops only a few minutes from here.Things look good for this weekend, its +17C outside right now and blowing a gale, most of the 50 cm of snow from 2 weeks ago is gone now. This weekend is the Brian Rose charity ride in dartmouth so no doubt I will go to that one.If you are from northern N.B. we should get a ride together for early spring as it comes a few weeks earlier here than most places in atlantic canada.Do you do the Buddy Ford promoted (quebec) ice series,It would appear that Lineaweaver knows his business and one of his engines would be a good investment.......I will keep in touch.......nsman

coffin & nsman:
If you try out Dale's work I for one am rather sure you will not be disappointed. His reputation has spread all the way to me in Sweden through the person who I think is probably the most experienced Berg-engine expert, Roland Öhrn. Roland has worked at the Berg factory ever since the start of time and now works with development here in Örebro.

But lets get back to the main issue here. How did it go in Vegas at the AMA finale???

The rider who we supported over the course of the season (Graham Cheney) broke his left collarbone and right thumb in a crash the week before the AMA season finale, so he did not compete. We had a stand-in rider, Olivier Annequin (bike 108) racing the backup bike, but he was involved in huge pileup on the first lap of the main event, and he lost his front brake. He rode for eight or nine laps, but Supermoto is difficult with no front brake 8O It was a shame too, as he was really starting to get comfortable with the racecourse. In the massive pileup, he did a good job of avoiding the carnage, but in the banging and jostling (he did not go down), the hose was ripped off of the remote brake fluid reservoir. I was out on the track and immediately repaired the hose, but some air still got in, and it ended our race.

Not sure what the season looks like for 2005, but as soon as we know anything, I'll post it here. Thanks for your interest.

Best regards,

Brett Saunders
