Hello Everyone,
A while back I found a few photos of a aluminum gas tank that was built on a mid to late 90's 501? Has anyone seen these before? I am looking to build one for my bike and need some ideas?

Thanks,
Kirk

This Site is GREAT !!!

Weight and space saving... I wonder if this could be an alternative to the oversized IMS desert tank we've been looking for...

But... 380 Euros... That's some expensive serbatoio.

Ma, que bellisimmo...

The Swedish driver Björne seems to use one of these tanks.
All the swedish semi-factory riders use those tanks. Both enduro and SM. They have also become very popular with all the people that races SM in Sweden.
I'm thinking of using the yellow 06 tank instead, just have to test ride it a bit more.

Two examples from the race held at our newly built track here in Örebro.

#13 Joakim Engström, 1st in the S1 class

Do you know why they do that?
Is it cause they want to move the centre of gravity?
The KTM tank and the aluminium tank look too similar to be a coincidence ???

Don't know for sure the other guys reasons but for me it would be because hey are a bit slimmer.
Maybe they offer a tiny bit more air flow through the radiator as well.

Premier Motorsports in Phoenix used to make and/or sell aluminum tanks for the Husaberg. I believe it was for MX. Regards, Corey :)

scharfschutzen

i put a heat gun to the standard tank and through simple pressure on each side and a few bits of wood and clamps i got me a slim tank for free. that's right! F-R-E-E!!!!

there is a thread on it somewhere!

regards

Taffy
