Hello i was wondering if anyone is interested in aluminum husaberg tanks.I am in the process of building a prototype.Soon as its done i will post pics.As of now im building one for my 1991 501.Also im working on a race exhaust with a stepped head pipe.

really?

i would be most interested in an aluminium tank for a 98 fe 400 my friend but only if it would be possible to fabricate a tank with at least a 3.5 gal capacity but more would be better. let me know wat it would run me if your willing to do it

RE: really?

hitop: you would be interested to know that your bike once ran a custom aluminum tank. it was removed because it kept cracking welds.

RE: really?

just had a few tanks start leaking on the welds and at seemingly random locations through the alloy, this is after about 18 months use.

old trick for cars, truck etc:

degrease the inside of the tank with a water based degreaser tip some high quality epoxy resin in and coat the inside of the tank, use lots then tip out the excess.

works extreemly well on the alloy tanks too

will be making carbon tanks next time.

Re: alum. fuel tanks.

I want one if its like this small 5 litre, for MX.
What's the chances?

Ivan
