In one pic you can see the assembly without the washer (the only way that makes sense to me:eek: )
The other pic I put the black washer where the red line is some advice would be hepful:cool:

some measurements:
stock(used) valve spring 39.2mm (38.3 wear limit)
stock vavle spring assembly complete (uninstalled) 43.4
KW complete assembly including black washer 47.3mm
KW without black washer 45.8mm (both KW also uninstalled)

Taffy still hasn't read anything ive posted and can't decide what the seated force of his stupid expensive springs actually is ... its glaringly obvious hes a dyslexic incompetent idiot

point 1; I did not post at any stage that spaffys springs are actually the ktm set.

they are almost exactly the same as the set on ebay UK except for the price they have the same coil count and wire diameter but they are not the same springs .... the ATV set is slightly better (lower peak force and lighter retainers) but its a 98% match

point 2: I DO NOT ADVERTISE OR SELL KIBBLEWHITE SPRINGS !

Kibblewite are a large professional quality driven company who sell fantastic products they designed these springs for the KTM rfs engines from 400 up to 613cc and are well aware of the RPMs involved.

our valves, rockers guides etc are the same as the RFS engines components so whatever you need them to do in a husaberg .. they will do! if you are concerned talk to the engineers at Kibblewhite.

I personally know the 9696000 springs are safe to 10k with the stock cam and 65lbs seated because ive done that in my bike verified with a data logger. by extrapolating these results you can assume that if you need 12500rpm use 80-85lbs seated and they still take less power to run than Spaffys or the ktm set. you can even go to 95lbs seated and they still take less power to run.

point 3; despite his paranoia I did not post at any point that Spaffys springs are rubbish

my point is simply that contrary to his ******** advertising claim they do not reduce the seated force over oem by 40% they actually increase it and considering they are so similar to the KTM set they are very expensive

.... (taffys set is) not a bad set of springs but it does not do what he claims it does and it costs more than the kibblwhite sets on ebay. It is like for like very similar to the OEM DVSK that costs much less.

What is the seated force of your springs ? 5 years on and you still don't have the faintest idea!! and as such are in no position to claim your springs are better than any others or speculate on or even measure actual forces required to prevent valve bounce.

until he can post pictures and results of how he measured the forces involved with all 4 sets of springs in a stock head with stock valves on uncut seats the majority of us will have to assume he is completely full of **** and doesn't know what the forces of his or any other springs are

it is obvious that due to his ignorance of the forces involved he is simply trying to confuse and scare everyone into buying his expensive KTM ATV copy springs.

unfortunately your lower seat is different to the ones I've installed so to be 100% sure you should either measure the seated force or confirm with kibblewhite they are super quick to respond to emails

i can tell you however that mine measured 72lbs seated when i installed them without adding the thinner black washer (my sets did not have this washer) this resulted in a preload of 6.8mm total on the springs.

ie if the springs I used are compressed by about 7 mm they are very safe

HusaBELGfs570, I would not be putting the thin washer under the keeper, you may in effect loose the spring location under the keeper that is there to hold the spring lateraly, could be dangerous!
 
I will install 1 valve spring to measure spring compression without the black washer when I'm at the dealer later toady (borrow his special tool:p )
Did any of you who have the KW set do machining to head or rocker cover on later 650 bikes???:)

You won't need to remove much metal and it is very easily done with a multi tool or dremel.
 
You did a nice job there hacker.

There must be a difference in the dia of the ATV vs KW springs?
 
I installed the kw set without machining or using black spacer the spring preload is about 7mm installed

that's excellent work Husabelg ... nice one :cool:

I did notice that using UK sourced exhaust valves there was light contact between the exhaust rocker arms and the KW titanium upper retainer.

I had to grind a small relief in the rockers

there is no such problem with Kibblewhite valves or the OEM 35/30s that i have here.
 
I also have to remove bit of material in rocker cover, did it with dremel tool.

I fit KTM ATV sopring and they are just fine for now :)
