alarming engine noise

Problem with my 501FE 2001:

After 1,5 h of race on saturday the engine gets a fizzling noise.

First I thougth the tube of the cooler is untight.

After 5 seconds tis noise gets louder.

I was luckily short to the checkpoint, finished the lap and checked the bike.
But the tubes was ok.

No water leakage.

I stoped the race to avoid a larger damage.

remarkable is that the engine blows up the oil from the breather tube when the engine is very hot.
Starting when very hot a white cloud comes out of the tube (modification: breather not in the air filter, you know)
But this was also 3 weeks ago by our enduro tour through the woods, and I have no problem by the crosscountry race 2 weeks ago.
No oil supplement was neccessary.

But my friend had never such a oil from the breather with his 470.

In the cooler was about 0,7 l too less water.

Maybe is a litte bit water in the oil, looks so what came out of the breather tube.

Through the inspection glass is seems normal.

Zylinderhead gasket damaged ?
But The noise is constant, and not louder by the compression stroke.

Or the waterpump seal?

and as a follow the piston is grinding?
Or a bearing defect?

The bike starts after 30 min as quick as usual, no blazing exhaust gas (water!)
Is normal to kick and turn through with the hand.

I think my 2001 goes to the end...

i've had a headgasket go twice and the waterpump seal go once or twice and each time the oil retained it's original colour.

check for bubbles of air in the coolant while the engine is running.

Ok,

I´ve got a tip from hribman and my dealer too which seems to have a high probability:

The nut of the crankshaft or driving shaft counter balancer!

When it gets loosen, the gearwheel does the noise.

The nut is probably not correct turning, and as a follow it is no correct pressure on the gearwheel, even though the nut is correct tightened.
A added washer is probably needed.

Do you agree?

Nut gets loosen (with screw locking) by overheating the oil as a follow of to less water in the engine.

I hope I´m right and the damage is small.

I have fount the failure:

The nut of the crankshaft was loosen.

I think it is nor added washer needed, because there nearly 2 mm differenz before the thread is ending.

No oil in water, no water in oil, no extraordinary swarfs in the filter.

Yeah!

Thanks to hribman for the correct tip!

my bike had a noise we tightened the primary drive nut and it went away. Rode it home from mechanics and after 15kms it started up again.

Any ideas.... Mechanic said he put bearing locker on the primary gear drive.

and also 626 on the primary gear nut.

well clearly if you can see shaft and the thread has stopped only a ******** would torque the nut down in this situation. all you need is something like a tab washer to take up the slack and turn the tab washer over. if you give me the OD of the shaft i'll see if any of mine will fit.

the actual engineering answer as dale told us all is that it should have had a tapered shaft and not straight.
