Problem with my 501FE 2001:
After 1,5 h of race on saturday the engine gets a fizzling noise.
First I thougth the tube of the cooler is untight.
After 5 seconds tis noise gets louder.
I was luckily short to the checkpoint, finished the lap and checked the bike.
But the tubes was ok.
No water leakage.
I stoped the race to avoid a larger damage.
remarkable is that the engine blows up the oil from the breather tube when the engine is very hot.
Starting when very hot a white cloud comes out of the tube (modification: breather not in the air filter, you know)
But this was also 3 weeks ago by our enduro tour through the woods, and I have no problem by the crosscountry race 2 weeks ago.
No oil supplement was neccessary.
But my friend had never such a oil from the breather with his 470.
In the cooler was about 0,7 l too less water.
Maybe is a litte bit water in the oil, looks so what came out of the breather tube.
Through the inspection glass is seems normal.
Zylinderhead gasket damaged ?
But The noise is constant, and not louder by the compression stroke.
Or the waterpump seal?
and as a follow the piston is grinding?
Or a bearing defect?
The bike starts after 30 min as quick as usual, no blazing exhaust gas (water!)
Is normal to kick and turn through with the hand.
I think my 2001 goes to the end...
