aftermarket pipes

Do the aftermarke pipes make much of a difference. Has anyone modified the standard pipe to get as good results (fe450 08)? What pipes have been used and how much do they cost. The akaapovic seems the most commone one, but I heard others are cheaper and better. Barret pipes?

i tried an akrapovic slip on muffler on my 650, came off a burnt 550 wreak so looks a bit second hand

I didn't like what it did to the power delivery as compared to the stocker with endcap mod see my gallery for a pic

did make more midrange power and engine wanted to rev out easier but overall the delivery was lumpy and I lost smooth bottom end grunt.

tried to jet it all smoother but couldn't get what I wanted, then on top of that every time I had a stack the blooday thing tried to break my colletor pipe.

its a $900 Ti coke can IMHO
