loving my Berg, don't get out as much as I should though.. went to the last Watagans Trail Bike rally recently and for the first time noticed the play in the throttle.

Its not much but the more I thought about it whilst riding the more it bothered me :mad:

I checked the manual and it says 3 - 5mm :eek: that's about how it is now.

Am I being paranoid? I would like little or no play, or is that not practical??

I've just recently loosened my throttle to the 3mm specified, likely it will reduce un-intended throttle roll on when the going gets rough and fast ?
At least that's my experience.

Best advice I can give is to set your bike up how it suits you.

(Be glad you're not on a Sherco. The French two wheeled mistress of 2016 has just broken a friends knee cap (patella). he was wearing knee braces too

Brand new bike, second ride, went to wide open throttle (uncontrolled) and spat him off. Wanna buy a sherco with only two rides under her skirt ?

Watagans are a nice part of the world - was it wet up that way ?

I've got an FE450 -12 and I don't like play in the throttle cable. Hence when I got it I set the play to basically zero. It has worked fine and I've not had any issues in spite of having ridden it for 3 years and bent two bars so much that they had to be scraped.

Had some good rain leading up to it. Made for some interesting tracks
The weather on the weekend was perfect

Cheers
