Adjustable footrest?

Anyone that has the adjustable footrest (force parts)? The question is how much they can be adjusted in terms of height and especially how much lower than the standard footrest they can be adjusted to.

Thanks
Marcus

Just bought a set from BOSS last week. If nobody has this info. I will post what the differences are for the 3 settings once I get them.

Some pics of mine here: http://www.husaberg.org/index.php?set_a ... _photo.php

They are primarily designed to go up and forward from standard, whereas I wanted down and back. Some grinding and filing achieved this, but with the benefit of hindsight I probably could have done the same with the original pegs. I also like the look of the Fastways which seem to offer the the adjustment i was after. I have only seen pics though.

crap. that's what I was hoping I could do. Down and back. I'll see and maybe send them back.

Dudes, you had the instructions upside down and backwards. They ARE designed to drop adn move rearward the pegs. You can also mount the peg rotated front or rearward from std.

Well Fry I've gone and had another look at mine and all i can say is that you got different ones to mine!

one negative to the adj peg is that it hangs lower, so rocks and stumps get clipped, bending the locating screw. I prefer the lowered std peg.

Hmmm seems like there are different variants out there. What about the ones provided by Husaberg, are they possible to adjust so that the pegs are lower or not?

Also, some tips/ideas on how to modify the standard pegs would be highly appreciated

The pegs I've mentioned above were supplied by my dealer in a KTM box with my 07 650. As I understand it they ere the genuine item. Some discussion on modding pegs is in my gallery, both with the adjustable ones by grinding the boss off the bottom so that they slide down the pivot, with a washer on top to take up the play and slotting the hole so that they slide back more than standard on my 650. I ground down a 3/8 22mm socket so I move them to the max and still get them tight. I used loctite too, just in case. Note that the spring is a pain to install. I found that using some tie wire around the ends to maintain some compression on it before removal made reinstallation simple.

On my 501, as I have done on other bikes, I used Ballards builders, a pic is here, http://www.ballards.cc/Product/10947714 ... 4/Footpegs and weld up something to fit. A pic of these on my 501 is in my gallery, link above.

With the standard pegs, just grind off the boss off the bottom of the pivot and replace it with a washer on the top. This has the effect of sliding the peg down and back along the standard mount at the cost of reduced bearing area and therefore more wear. It may be all you need.
