Calling Guru's

I am looking at adding this FS650 to garage, but would like to clear one thing up before I progress.

http://www.bikesales.com.au/as/search/s ... age=1&x=97

(I know it is an 05)

I have read in the doc that the 650 went to the 35mm big end in 06, but after searching I found mention that it was changed in 05 when the capacity was reduced to 628cc?

Can someone tell me again that all the info I need is in the doc (changed in 06)

Or that I should do a search and find what I am looking for (Changed in 05)

Also is there anything I should be looking for on an un-touched 100+Hr. 650

Thanks in advance

Tim

Hello Tim,

The official parts manual says the pin changed in 2005 along with the shorter stroke crank.

As the advert says, if the bike has been fully maintained, there shouldn't be anything you need to worry about. Just make sure it looks as tidy as it says

Hope the purchase goes well - it's a beast.

hello,as far as i can judge by the pics this is a 2005 fe model not fs

it has the six pot caliper fron - 2005v is radial.

force supermoto models did not have yellow tank.

this bike also has the front brake master cylinder of enduro models.

so its possibly a fe converted to supermoto.

Thanks Oyk.

I was a bit confused by your comments so I checked the link that I put on the original post, and somehow I have managed to paste the wrong address. The bike in question is actually here.

For those interested

Tim

Bike from this link is 2004 FS. No radial front brake, no radial master cylinder, large digital speedo with remote controls. Rear rim on 04 is 4,25" also.

Cheers, Goran

Ok, I am going MAD

Twice I have cut and pasted a link to a bike that is advertised on another site and both times the next day the link shows a different bike?

what is goin on?

You're not the only one - I saw the original post which had the correct radial front caliper, correct colours and it looked like a genuine 05 model. However, it had an aftermarket front brake disk and said it was an FS FE so you might want to double check it is a proper FS model rather than a converted FE.

I think I'm already mad but hope this helps,
Simon
