Dear fellow Bergites
It is with great sadness that i must abdicate my throne as owner of the oldest running berg on uhe..... as she is no longer running, again. This time i think its for good, after weeks of messing around i got the problem with the tappet screws sorted and yes Le Frog you were right, 8O if it sounds like something else then something is wrong! Took her out yesterday and all was good in the world, then all hell broke loose, back end locked up and after a 60 yard slide it was discovered the engine had seized, stripped her down this morning and 3 valves snapped. Cant be bothered to keep the intensive care going with the old girl any more so i think i'm going to retire her, so oldest running berg title is no more. DCR says he'll take her and put her in his husaberg museum so i'm gonna have to start saving my pennies for a new berg, no more fun for a while

:-({|=R.I.P. H-berg My condolences on your loss..sniff..sniff..the ol'girl gave it her all..sniff..sniff. All kidding aside, that is a real bummer!

Well, the time has come for it to be retired...

I thought you could get some money out of it by parting out, have you thought about it?

Owners of such older models are always on the outlook for parts.

Good luck with the new bike!

Thought about it LeFrog but dave at dcr will give me decent money for her to put in the museum... at least there she'll retain her dignity, #10 off the line and she doesnt deserve to be broken if she's survived this long :D
I think the new bikes gonna be a '04 fc450 i've seen.

Oh yes i hereby reclaim the title! :D :D :D :D
She lives, breaths and sings like a erm........ big nasty snorty thing!

Sorry to hear of your bike's demise. Only the other day I told my wife that if my 'berg had a major failure it would probably write it off. She did not look impressed! Unfortunately that is probably the case for most 'bergs from last century.

At least you can still lay claim to having the ugliest avitar!!!

You there at the back of the class.... Bundybear!!!, pay attention and look at the post above yours! :D :D

I had a mate once who threw up during an exam while sitting at the back of the class. His last words as he sat down to the test were ".... A whole packet of Kool Mints .... I'm ready for anything." I'd prefer not to be at the back of the class if I can help it!

I saw your post but had trouble making sense of it. Do you really mean that in 3 days you actually brought a '90 model back to life from a catastrophic top end failure???? 8O

If so that puts you as the professor out the front showing us how it should be done! 8)

No Bundy i'm no proff. but i can change an engine in an hour haha, bought a new one and swapped it.... good as new!!!!

It'll end up like a story my grandfather told me about an axe a bloke had owned for 60 years. In that time it only had three new heads & a dozen new handles.

With another donk, is your bike still a '90 model?
