Hey Taffy,

are you willing to tell us the year the pic was taken?

Nice Duc by the way!

At a rough guess Maddel I would say the early eghties going by the cars on the banking a Mallory Park.
And like wise nice looking Duke, mine was a bit later than Taffys 748SPS but I think Taffys could be worth a few more bucks.

Regards

Sparks.

I'm more interested in finding out what Taffy's real name is ? 8) I'm sure he ain't advertising his sponsor on the visor of that Duke...

D. LLOYD

they were challenging coca-cola once donchya know!

maddel, that photo is spring summer 1985 when i was 24. in those days you used simple paint, a bit of white, narrow electrician's tape and a few letters from the local store. this is 'fancy' i tell thee!

they are the standard wheels and brakes with marzocchi magnesium 35mm forks which were normally gold. the rear is a WP 'remote resevior'. the tank is a 20L (the max for an F2) fibreglass tank. the screen is from an RS125 and even then needed 2" rremoving.

nobody noticed my special number! double ohe!!! always had that when i raced in the midlands. all 4 clubs would give me it and none of the anglian clubs would. bleedin typical!

i have four dukes still;
harris F2
verlicchi F2
standard pantah 500SL
1992 400ss

i saw one going for £12,000 on ebay that had never been raced even. it was standard with a lot of stickers. unbelievable!

the roadbike weighed 450LB and the last racer weighed 255 pounds. less than the factory bike and there was no CF then either! i lost 200lb off it over 13 years. i lost 54lb off just the wheel assmeblies. went from what you see to tubeless marvic with plasma sprayed discs.

regards

Taffy

Heja David,

thanks for the detailed info!

I love the vintage Ducatis, I still search for something like this:
