A couple of worthwhile upgrades.

The first and most agreed upon by the posts I've seen here is the FMF 4.1. Absolutely a must for the new 570.
Runs like a different machine, smoother, cooler and more compact.
The second and more discretionary but I still think very important is the Trail Tech HID headlite.
Where I live, especially in the Summer and Fall the deer population is huge. Coming back late from a trail ride
late on the highway can be like a game of dodge ball. Visibility is a must and this definitely provides it.

Does the FMF 4.1 come with a spark arrestor? Thanks

Oh I see your GS in background...I have one too!

SO what's the diference in the FMF 4.1 and Q, Extra performance is always nice but I don't want a crazy loud bike. Does anyone know how each of those compare to the stock muffler, soundwise that is? I'm very happy with stocker on that front. Don't really need more power on my 570 but I'll take it. (but if I didn't like power I would have went the 450.)

I ordered an "accessory" spark arrestor for it and it didn't have one installed when it arrived
so I would guess that it comes without one. Yea, my GS, I love it almost as much as my Berg.
We're bringing it along to the FR4 in Colorado to do some sight seeing on after the Berg
riding is over!

Well, the 4.1 is made out of Titanium and is very light. Sound wise, I can only compare it to the stock pipe,
which had a very annoying poppyness, and I don't think it's any louder. It has a much better tone then the
stocker. My 570 is a 2011 street legal model and with the new pipe and re-mapping it's a whole new animal.
Starts better, runs cooler, sounds a million times better. Kim A.

I was just afraid the aftermarket pipe would be louder, maybe not, My stock 2010 pipe doesn't seem to have any poppoing noises, maybe yours had to come leaner from the factory to be street legal and that's where the popping was coming from. I'll get some more time on my stock pipe and make a call in a few weeks. I am planning on getting the competition remap done to the ECU regardless. Thanks for the input!

I put the 4.1 on my 450FX. I ordered the spark arrester with it and it also came with a quiet insert. The spark arrester is a screen that mounts inside the exit and bolts on. That is the same way the quiet insert mounts. I run with the quiet insert except when I have to run the spark arrester.

I personally don't think there's really any sound level difference between the 4.1 and the Q when they are running the same inserts. I have a 4.1 on my FX and I've heard the Q on a KTM at the same time and without the quite insert they sounded the same.

I've had pretty much the same results. I can't tell much difference between the sound, Quiet Core vs no Q.C.
