A bit of confirmation

Hi guys an gals,

Just need to confirm my model year before i shell out cash for a swingarm bearing kit.

The site selling them goes no lower than 2004. My reg is 53 so i thought it'd be 2003. But looking at the doc, my tenth digit is 4 which makes it a 2004.

Would 03 an 04 bearings be the same anyway? Dont want the hassle of sendin em back an i want bike back on road soon-ish

There is quite a big difference from 2003 to 2004. The engine cover for starters is different on the two model years. Also the electronics(SEM to Kokusan) as well as the carb. Dunno for certain but the swingarm bearings are all the same from what I heard.
Anyways if you have Kokusan electrics whit FCR carb and an engine cover which has separate cover for the clutch basket then you have an '04+. If you have a Delorto carb with SEM electrics you have an 2003 and downwards bike.
(These are just the major changes)

Yeah, deffo 2004 then. Got the mag clutch cover an FCR carb. Starts on the button lovely too which i heard 2003 an below struggle to.
Seem to remember having this model year confusion before

its that long since i used it i dont even know what it is!! Takes me a few mins to work out which is choke an which is the hot start :lol:

Right, i'll order these bearings then.
