"BBR Husaberg 501
This may have been the wildest bike BBR ever built.
At 230 lbs. and 50+ hp., this bike is unbelievable!
After blowing up every single engine part twice, and nearly
a dozen ignitions, we jokingly renamed it "The Hindenburg."

They say it is a '97 501 Just thought it was interesting, does anyone remember any articles or write-ups about it?

I worked on said bike. Note the "Lineaweaver" stickers on the swinging arm. The bike suffered from excessive vibration (Twin Spar Chassis) causing chronic stator failure.

Sincerely,
Dale

Do a search of this site and you shall find all the information you desire on said project.

Do u think it would be possible to build a similar version using a more modern Honda CR frame with a 04/05 650 Husaberg engine ?

A chap i bought one of my bikes from in Manchester has one, think it has a 400 motor now but was 501. I forget who built it but what a lovely job they did, a huge amout of work though.

Did this bike use standard Husaberg wheels & brakes? I see the front wheel has the same ***-backwards spoke pattern of the earlier 'bergs.

How much of it was new & how much was cannabalised from the original bike?

Gotta love the RHS kickstart mod!

Regarding OEM Husaberg:
Engine, Carburetor and Ignition to the best of my recollection.
