i am redoing a rat "00 fe400e and after reassembling most of it, i find i have a bad cdi. this cdi is the same design (digital force?) as the '99-03. difference is the connectors.
good guy that i am, i sold my spare cdi of that vintage to brucifer a while ago, so i'm out of stock as it were. just for fun, i tried a spare cdi that i had for my '98. you get a good spark from it.
my question is: with the different resistance values of the stator between the early and later sem stators, would this be a good replacement? ignition curve doesn't concern me. seems to me the kicking acv values are about the same on both style stators.
sparks: will it damage the stator longterm?
anybody try it before?
