hey , i have a 98 fc 501 with a cracked gas tank. haveing trouble finding another one, will any other years tank/shroud fit?? early 2000"s maybe? does anyone make an aftermarket one?

as far as i know 1997-1999 any size engine fc or fx tank will work, fe tank has way different mounts, not sure if a pre1997 will work or not? i watched ebay for a long time before i found a 1998 fc tank......maybe your tank could be repaired to at least hold fuel till you can find one?

i had a 98 fe with an fx tank and was able to switch it with an fe. the lower right mount by the fuel pump needs a rubber donut. if the fx doesn't have the post for it, it would be easy enough to weld or screw one on there. then you need to connect the pump with a vacuum hose to the fitting on the intake port in front of the carb on the left side. i believe the fx already has the second air filter blanked off.
