My 98 fc 501 has been running an starting fine it's a kick only normally I can get it on the first kick or so but today I had to kick the liven crap out of it , it wasn't flooded would turn over for a sec then die this was after riding around town for a few did it 3 times today the air screw is 1 1/2 out plug is fine any ideas?

beginning of the end for your stator?
put a timing light on the plug lead and a battery to operate it somewhere and then ride - or just do this in the workshop. just before the engine stops the timing light will stop flashing....
stator reading should be
green to black - 165 ohms
red to black 2,700 ohms.
