I have been looking but haven't came across any aftermarket radiator guards for a 97 fe501e. Is there anyone still making them for the old bikes ?

Yes I am looking for some aftermarket aluminum guards-cages to keep the radiators protected. I am sure someone made them back in the day but trying to find them now may not be so easy.

I adapted a pair of similar vintage Yam WR250 ones without too much drama on my 98 FE501.

Thank you. I will check into it. The look like they got with minor work. Habit pricey but if you don't have many choices what are you gonna do....

Front guards only. The B&B are louvre type which I prefer, makes for better airflow I believe.

I expect that any early WR250 guard could be adapted similarly though.

Thank you for the info. Last question, did you make the top support bracket that goes to the frame or did they come with them for the wr ?

I fabricated out of aluminium what was needed to make it work. No welding, but nuts and bolts and a few pop rivets.
