Which way is the flywheel/stator arrangement? The 97 & 98 had the flywheel fitting over the stator which was bolted to the engine case. The 99 was the first to have the stator bolted to the side cover.

Flywheel covering the stator (stator on the engine) - MKI was until 98, 99 - 03 was the MKII, witch was stator on the cover.
The e-start came in the 95-96

89-95 things stayed very much unchanged

95 FE 600 the stator is bolted to the case and the flywheel over it and bolted to the crank.
