I purchased the 95 Fe501 I mentioned in a previous post. I'd like to know. What are the different series of models, ie what generations are compatable? Can I mod newer model head light, radiator, side and rear plastic. How about upgrading the stator when it goes. I'll be splitting the cases for a look see, for any worn items. What type of oiling system does this model have. Can I do the upgraded (HD) cam chain, that Taffy has in her gallery. Can't think of any other questions at the moment, but I know I'll have more in the future.

By the way, The Berg I purchased is a real corrosion queen, every fastener seems rusted, brake pedal bushings worn, kick starter, also. All suspension, and fork bearings seem tight. Engine seems OK , a little noise in the top end, but it might be normal, kind of used to my two stroke. I can't hear any engine noise while riding. I picked this bike up for $1,000.00 so I've got some wiggle room on the price of upkeep and repairs. This bike will get a complete teardown, and rebuild before this summer. :D

I think you shall consider the original Regina timing chain. This far I have been told there are no known problems with this chain.

If you replace it with another brand, be sure it is a "pure" timing chain.
