Hey guys taking a look at a pretty clean older '95 FE501 and was wondering what the skinny is on that year model as far as reliability and issues?
Thinking of taking the plunge for a cheap backup woods bike and wanting to see how the '95 year model stacks up.
thanks for any advice and opinions.

if all else fails talk to ned, talk to coronaberg or parsko. all yanks and all in the know. another one is dezduster. great guys with lots of info - they're just really shy about giving it away!

prolly get it for a good price, but may need a lot of tweeking and tlc to get it to the point where you can trust it, it was designed to be a thoroughbred racer and as such, can be temperamental. carb parts wear and stator/ ignition issues are common, thus a lot of hard or no start issues abound. it is a 12 year old racer, but if you are mechanically inclined and a patient man, could be a lot of fun.

Thanks for the feedback.Between yours and the couple of PM replies it's sorta what I thought it'd be and it's not what I'm looking to get involved in.I guess the low price had me clouded.
