750 Big Bore Kit

I have a 2005 FE 650 that I use to compete professionally in hillclimbs. I run nitrous oxide, and have the crank welded. I am looking to increase poweer and was looking at the 750 kit. I saw one about two years ago and the bike blew up the first run (Piston out the side of the case) I heard the new kits are better. True?????? Or no????? I was also wondering if any of you guys know who would be the best person for me to send the engine to have it worked over. (Possibly hot cams, ignition, etc.) I heard of a guy in the UK that really knows his stuff with the sidecars. Anyway, any info would be greatly appreciated by any of you Husaberg pimps!!!!

Seems I saw that Dale was also experienced with fuel set ups (nitro, etc.), and maybe could help you there. A big bore kit on the 09 lay down engine would be a nice set up for hillclimb!?

RE: Re: 750 Big Bore Kit

yep craigy has it - ben ballard of JBS racing here in the UK. go see his gallery for more.

ben now makes the entire 750 kit work inside the original 650 engine with no stacking plate under the head.

FE 650 + nos ..hmmm.

how many hours have you got out of this set up ?

there was a post on here a while back where a dude had 2 berg motors stuffed in , he used it for hill climbs .

What kind of horsepower does the JBS 750 kit make?

RE: Re: RE: Re: 750 Big Bore Kit

Buy a KTM LC 4 old version and use the Diabolo Kit by Frauenschuh. 135Hp. Last for 80 h without any probs. Costs: 10 000€ without bike.

RE: Re: RE: Re: 750 Big Bore Kit

Thank you for the advice. I am e-mailing Mr. Lineaweaver right away to talk to him about my situation. He is a very knowledgeable man. Sounds like most all of you guys know your stuff. Your right Celly, the Ktm LC4's have been proven in the hillclimb community to put out huge power and be very reliable, even under nitrous. Whosaberg asked how many hours I have gotten out of my current setup with nitrous, and I have to regretfully admit that I typically get only one and a half seasons (which equals only about 2-3 hours) And yes there is a hillclimber that has jammed two 650s into one frame. It is a beautiful work of art, but seems akward to ride. What is strange is that my clutch usually goes out first, then the bike spits oil out the header pipe! The cost of competition I guess. But I would like to think there is a better way. ( Also thank you Craigy and Taffy for the links to the big bore, looks promising)

Dale Lineaweaver is involved in a full time project that takes him away from his own shop.

Here is his most recent post. I recommend just continue trying E-mail and telephone as I did to get 2 sets of 'Dual Spring valve Springs' from him.

Darksiderider...

What kind of nitrous kit are You running on Your Berg?

I have a Boondocker kit (running medium jet) on my 06 650 (completely stock engine, just changed jetting and put on a Povic titanium exhaust), and I have only run it for a couple of competitions with this setup. My main problem this far is the pressure in the engine when the gas is on, the oil comes out of the ventilation of the head.
I have had to run lines from the ventilation (there are two on the 06) up to the steering head and from there back to the rear fender to avoid getting oil all over the engine (the holes into the frame/airfilter have been plugged).

Not a lot of oil comes out but I have to refill every now and then.

Do you have the same problem? Is it possible to increase number of ventilation holes in the head to release more pressure and perhaps not killing my engine?

When Your engine gives up, what kind of damage are we talking about? Total rebuilding?

I use 850to 900cc of oil and no more than 8200RPM and nver a problem ,on the bench after rebuild 1 liter of oil reving to 9000RPM oil over flow!!!!!
