Hi All,

Wondering if you can help?
Who are you all using for top end refresh on these motors? Do some head work etc?
Where to buy replacement piston/rings, valves if you don't want stock? I am thinking about titanium valves also - any concerns?
I am based in California but can ship head etc.

Any insight much appreciated.

Thanks, Digs.

I would go oem. Theres nothing faulty about em. And do you realy need to change valves?
Dno much about dealers in the US. Cyclebuy.com?
How many hours is on The bike?

Oem have titanium for intake and steel for exhaust, unless I'm wrong..

You can find all the tolerances in the workshop manual so check what's good or not before you buy anything.

Its over 200 hrs and was my former enduro race bike so saw a lot of heated action. Bike runs great but not quite the same snap as before. Yes I can order OEM parts from any KTM/Husaberg dealer. However, I am looking for a engine builder to help with polishing the head, replacing the valves, honing the cylinder, ordering the right size piston etc. I don't want to get it wrong!

Thanks for the help.

I talked to Rick Bozarth at Boss Offroad and he keeps parts in stock for the 70 degree bikes. I'm planning to do a 510 big bore here eventually and I'm prolly sending my head ported by the same guy that has done head work on previous bikes of mine and my bro-in-law. Tim @ zforce racing in Illinois. He has great prices on porting and valve seat machining. He did porting on my crf450r and between the seat cutting and port job (even installed the cam & shimmed the valves) and it made it a fire breathing bike with a stock bore and a bump in compression.
