Hi all,
Bought into the Husaberg family with a 2011 FE450, to be able to ride with my son and his KTM 400EXC. First ride and I went down hard, handle bar in my eye and almost lost it (the eye). Clutch lever broke, and the master cylinder was leaking profusely. While the eye has healed since, I now want to ride again, but I have lost all feeling in the clutch. I took the slave off the block and saw that the diaphragm was broken as well, so I ordered an Oberon CLU-1000 slave cylinder replacement, and I also 'upgraded' to a Brembo master cylinder. I flushed the pipe, and cleaned the housing of the clutch slave cylinder to make sure that there would be no mix between the mineral oil previously used and the Brembo DOT 5.1 brake fluid I will use from now on.
Problem I have is how to properly bleed the clutch once back on that engine (I have done KTM's many times). There's just no way to get a small hose on top of the bleed nipple, and almost no way to properly crack open that nipple in the first place. How do you bleed the clutch on the 'berg with a 70 degree engine? Am I missing anything? Should I take the slave off, clamp the slave piston so it cannot pop out, when reverse bleeding? Or gravity bleed, but with almost no control?
