Had decided to go after a FE570 2010/11 model for my next bike. Looking to get one in the new year.

My problem now is.... I've come across a 2007 FE 650 Race Replica, in fair nick. After reading some reviews and write ups they appear to be a great bike

any suggestions or feed back on which way to jump?

Cheers

Rusty

I'd say it was really hard to go wrong with either!

Each has its own differences and strengths. The character is quite different.

Which one speaks to you more?

What kind of riding?

I have both, and if I had to choose one, it would be the 570.

The power delivery on the 570 is much smoother than the 650, but it does clean up after Taffy's magic needle. Neither hit like an MX though.

The 570 feels slimmer between the knees which is appreciated in tight single track, or very technical transfers (like boulder to boulder).

The raw power from the 650 is awesome, guaranteed to put a smile on your face every time.

Plastics availability... much easier to find new stuff for the 570.

just from the vewpoint of the 2 different chassis' and weight distribution

if you ride whoops or really soft sand go 570

fire trails gravel roads and sliding go the 650

07 and 08 650s engines are more robust and reliable than 570 according to aust rallye team.

570 and then bore that sucker 4 mm. :)

The 570s have shown very rare cases of big end failure.

650 power is nice though.

Get both. I've only ridden the 450 slant motor, and it handled amazingly. But I'm a Luddite and prefer the 650. I love looking at it, (the newer models never grabbed me) and I love riding it. More so than any other dirt bike I've owned. Well..probably a close call between that and my ATK605.

I use the 650 for single trail and have no trouble hounding a fast mate on a 350 KTM. I love the way it demolishes hills.
