650 system on the 400/450

i've managed to fit the doma on my husaberg. it is now known that the 650 head is over an inch taller and upon trying to fit the 650 system i thought i'd had it!

the problem being that the "sweep" of the pipes around to the right WAS over the ignition cover and with the 400 it would have been through it!!!

by machining the header bolt holes in an arc i have riased the system over the ignition cover and just over the back of the cases. the ignition timing hole is 10% shrouded.

the centre section needed the lightest tiny kink on one of the headers to make it parallel and then the centre section fitted. i was lucky, i had a chrome table pole i'd kept and by wedging it in the header whilst bolted to the head gave it a little uuuugh-aaagh!

the tailpipe also fits easy and misses the centre chassis vertical tube on the left by 3mm.

the silencer sits straight and pro like! it was then all disconnected under the carb and the original put on.

i'm hopefullly testing soon. spark's SEM, the pro atomiser and the system in two parts. headers and middle follwed by the tailpipe. i will then strip one side and the head to fit the sherco camchain drive assembly and the kibblewhite twin springs. can i feel less resistance in an engine? doubt it but we'll have a go!

regards

Taffy
