I desperately need left & right engine cases and barrel for 06FE650. New or second hand. Even a complete engine if available.

Does anyone know any dealers etc where I could get a good deal on these.
Please provide email or web addresses as I'm in Western Australia.

Engine broke while at our local dealer and I don't want to buy parts from them.

I really need some help... PLEASE

Taffy can help normally with engine parts, but he's located in England.taffmeisters.co.uk

cases are now like hens teeth due to sumo and sidecarX folk throwing rods and cracking cases.

i could find a complete engine for £1,00 but my advice is to buy a new set of cases which were £800 last time i checked. BTW, the '08 cases were apparently a little stronger....

regards

Taffy

I would get new cases from the USA

keep hassling dealers and bike shops over there till you get good service

Bikebandit has prices listed

Boss has great service.

for berg stuff over here just DIY or send to orangeberg

Sorry to hear of your misfortune chubba, but I just have to ask- how does the above happen to the point of requiring new cases?? Did it blow up on the dyno or something??

JDK motorcycle wreckers at Coffs Harbour had a 03 motor wrecking & a 05 motor complete a few months back ,ph 02 66582299 or 0410340057.
i only spoke to them about parts did not see condition of motor , i have used them before where good to deal with,
not sure if 03 cases are the same but 05 complete motor would be.
hope this helps
cheers Peter

The cases in Australia new are $2100 , plus $570 for your cylinder sleeve. I can do better than that. I will get back with a better price. and they dont have the cases in stock here.
I have all the bearings in stock if you go new

RE: Re: 650 HUSABERG ENGINE PARTS

PROBLEM SOLVED: I managed to do a deal with Daniel thanks to you Peter.. What a great bunch of people Husaberg riders are... Cheers for all your help, ideas and time you took to help me. ANOTHER SUCCESS STORY... more or less :-(

HOW DID THIS HAPPEN: The reason this whole thing came about started with my 05FE650 when the drive sprocket rattled loose on the end of the crank. I nursed it home and took it into our local dealer. An hour later, it was fixed. He took the case off, undid the nut on the end of the crank, coated it with hi strength lock tight and put it all back together.. FIXED. My son on the other hand was riding his 06FE650 with his mates when the same noise started coming from his engine. Difference was he just kept beating up on it. RESULT: he broke the keyway on the end of the crank that locates the drive sprocket which then required a new crank. Our mechanic rebuilt the engine but it didn't seem quite right. Took it to our local dealer and they pulled it down again. Said it needed new bearings etc which we agreed to put in. Dealer rang me a few days later to say there was a slight problem. The engine had just dropped it's guts all over the workshop floor. He reckons that after the rebuild they started it and it self destructed on idle. The little end attached to the piston broke allowing the rod to punch out through the sleeve/barrell and both engine cases (on idle - yeah right). They are blaming the first mechanic and don't want to know anything about it. The rod and piston were new with the initial new crank rebuild. The initial new crank rebuild was $3400 and the second rebuild to check things over with the dealer was another $2400 that resulted in the engine exploding. The moral of the story is if you hear strange noises coming from the engine, don't keep beating up on it, get it looked at. I rode my 05FE650 harder than most weekend warriors and it never let me down... Revving a sick bike rarely makes it better..

Long story but hope it helps someone...

Cheers ALL
Brett

RE: Re: 650 HUSABERG ENGINE PARTS

Hello Taffy
Thanks to Peter above, I did a deal with Daniel from JDK motorcycle wreckers at Coffs Harbour for an exchange engine. The cam, head, gearbox, clutch etc are all in good condition and have been exchanged for the 2nd hand engine he has.
Seemed to be the quickest fix to get the bike back together...
Thanks again bergies for all you thoughts and ideas.. All the best.
Brett (Chubba)
