650 engine case compability

I have an 06 fe650 with a bad engine, i got my hands on a 03 650 engine, is it possible to swap the right side over fron the 06 to the 03 engine? Looks the same on the outside exept flywheel and stator cover

Keep in mind that cases are machined as pairs.
Even if it would work,you´d most likely have problems with bearing seats and bores being out of center.
Apart from that.
The ignition isn´t the only difference.
The engine pressure relief valve with the 01-03 engines also differs.
It´s a separate relief valve underneath the oil filter up to 03.
With all 04-08 engines it´s a spring pressured steel ball that sits right between the engine casings.
What´s wrong with your 06 engine?

The last owner «rebuilt» it and its a mess inside, wont start, scored the left case where the kickstart gear goes, has way too much compression for some reason, so it barely turns over, timing is spot on
