Hello everyone, my family has a 600FE, shock absorber core diameter of 50MM, the front shock absorber oil leakage. Bought a new oil seal, but do not know the amount of oil shock absorption. Can you tell me what you know? A single shock absorber damping oil plus how much? Or from the shock absorber to the upper level to determine how much the amount of filling.

What model year? :)

Maybe there is something in the manual. Do you have the manual? Let's find a copy for you if you need it!

Best of luck!! Great bikes!

if my memory is correct, the 50mm forks each used over a half liter of oil. i used a 5 wt oil and left the air gap around 120mm from the top.

Thank you

Ned37, about two shock absorbers, the liquid level of the damping oil (air gap) is 120mm right?

Husabutt, maintenance data for the shock absorber is not found.

the liquid level of the damping oil (air gap) is 120mm
a lot depends on the terrain and how you ride it. the more air gap, the softer the initial travel. 120 may be a bit too much for you. experiment with the level. its not hard to add oil without removing the forks.

the piston in the reservior chamber wants to be 100mm down from the end of the cap when the shock is fully open/out. 100mm + or - 10mm it does not matter. you measure through a little screw hole at the end.

2.5W oil.

180psi nitrogen pressure.
