570 left me stranded today

2.3 hours on it. I've posted that it's difficult to cold start (even posted a video no one commented on). Riding today and it's running great, kicking butt. About 3 miles into some fast paced single track we pull over, take breather and discuss where to go next. We get ready to go and the bike starts, in gear, right away. I go to take off and it flames out and dies. It will not re-start. Checked gas, fuses, let it cool down, tried to bump start it, nothing works. It turns over easy with the starter but doesn't even try to light. After about 30 min, my buddy gives me a ride back to my truck and I go pick up the bike. Try it start it, spins easily again but no hit. Loaded up and drove home. At home with a totally cool bike, still the same situation and now the battery is weakening. Put it on a trickle charger and checked all fuses and connections, still no start. I say screw it and watch a movie with my wife. Try it again after the move and it finally starts and runs perfect???!!! WTH?

Any ideas?

I suspect no one knows the answer as they are not having this issue. Does it start if you crack the throttle a little and keep your finger on the starter for longer?
Has the dealer said anything? Bad/wrong fuel?

UHE user "mootak" is gathering info re the hot start issue. PM him the following details:
YEAR, MODEL, LAST 6 DIGITS OF VIN#
As per his post in thread viewtopic.php?f=7&t=12991&start=90

Thank you and I will do contact him.

cracking the throttle gets it to pop now and again but not start.

Bad battery?? It would be nice to know what the battery voltage is when cranking (when the failure is happening). Any noise from the fuel pump when trying to start?

You have probably already checked but are you getting enough fuel at 0% throttle? I have a Vortex ECU fitted to my 10' 570 and it was a pig to start until I got 0% throttle adjusted for more fuel, now no problems at all, Don't know if you have the stock ECU but your dealer or tuner should be able to help?

The fuel pump was not making noise. I believe this now to be the issue that several others are having in the thread viewtopic.php?f=7&t=12991&start=90 as my scenario was exactly the same

A couple of suggestions............

Pull the plug for the fuel pump, hook up a volt meter or test light, roll the motor and check to see if you have voltage there. If you do then there is something wrong with the pump.

There are only two "things" that remain hot when the bike is off, the feed to the ECU-feed to the fuel pump, and the hot to the start button.

I think your going to have to carry a voltmeter or test light to figure this out. Need to know if the fuel pump is getting voltage during failure. That will eliminate a lot of guess work.

My wiring harness was shorting out against the top of the engine. Others have had it short on the shock reservoir. Mine was killing my fuel pump but was also blowing fuses. I had to tear the bike all apart and turn the wiring harness completely over to see the damage. Was very hard to spot....
