570 Engine Issues??

My 12 570 was running perfectly when at the start of one ride it kept stalling after blipping the throttle. It seemed okay most of the ride but at the end, when I went to pop the wheel up for a big log off idle it bogged down and died.

I've had the injector and filter ultrasonically cleaned and it still does it. I was looking through the valve check thread and found this, which appears to be the exact same problem:

I am at 15hrs and now have a problem whereby the bike when warmed up will not idle for more than a minute. It switches of. It will restart immediately thereafter, for a minute then die. Fuel pump is running, it revs out fine, doesn’t back fire (so I don’t think it’s the plug). It ran perfectly fine when I last rode it 3 weeks ago
Could out of spec valves cause this situation?
It struggles when bliping the throttle slightly, meaning it doesn’t take rev like it normally does.

Advise appreciated

Does anyone have an idea as to what it can be? The last ride it did the same thing and then was harder to start towards the end of the ride (long after it was warned up though).

Edit: It has always had a fuel filter sock. The bike currently has 110 hours/3800km's.

X2 on the plug.... had a friend with similar problem he started by changing fuel pump, filter, had injector professionally cleaned we were going to try swapping fuel tanks to see if the fuel pressure regulator was bad. ended up being the spark plug. Check the spark plug cap as well not sure what the value but it should have some resistance. keep us posted on the outcome. hopefully an easy fix

A mechanic told me that if you blip the throttle on a 570 it can suck the air filter against the metal mesh under it, and when the filter get squeezed the filter oil can temporarily block the air enough so the engine stalls. He told me to cut away the mesh even if I never had experienced this problem as it might happen in a bad situation. I haven't noticed any down side running the engine without it.

Cheers all, I'll get a new plug and swap it out. Hopefully it is that simple.

Jon - It is caused by the filter being sucked in. I've tried the throttle blipping with the seat off and looking at the air filter and also without the filter/cage installed and it still does it.

that's call a FLAME OUT. they do this, especially with stock fuel mapping. get the ECU reflashed to the competition map, adjust your TPS and you should be good to go.

there's no metal mesh under the 570 air filter. the foam filter is mounted on a plastic cage against the rubber air boot. no metal screen.

The 09 bikes had the mesh, mine and my friends bikes were recalled for a flash and a
Bare frame filter cage as a fix for flame outs. It used to do it in real handy places like busy intersections and near vertical hill climbs. Don't know if this hold true for 12 bikes.

mesh stops your bike catching fire when you have flame out. Think you will find the EU map is tuned for the mesh in the filter cage. If the filter is getting sucked in on quick acceleration then you have way too much oil in your filter and you are restricting the air flow anyway.
