for about the same money I can get a 2004 450 or 2005 550, which would be the one to have? It'll be used for track use mostly with a few road blasts, no commuting ect.

cheers

Oh right I was thinking the 450 would be better suited to track use. The only reason I say that tho is I know a couple of guys who swapped 525 ktms for 450 versions when they started to race a bit.

If both bikes are in approximately the same condition, the 550 for absolute sure.

got the 550! well not yet I left it where it was but ive paid for it!

Taking it out next weekend on the track, then I might road register it, but it'll mostly get track use, I want to start riding in the NORA sport SM championships. I'm planning on doing the local(ish) circuits next season, and see how it goes.

Hi jaymee, im in preston too. Where do you go locally? Trax? 3 sisters?

Never really watched any "real" supermoto. Only ever rode on the road. Would be great to watch some proper sumo-ing!

There's racing at three sisters today! I haven't been yet, I've done trackdays at trax and rowrah, near cockermouth. It's about 2hours north.

There's loads of sm in Preston, the last trackday I went on at rowrah I must have met at least 6 people from around Preston!

Once I'm road registered i'll give you a shout, also if there are any trackdays going on too!!

2nd of sept there's a supermoto track day a teeside, look on supermotoforum.co.uk for details, £60 probably 2 SM groups and 1 sports bike group.
