Having problems finding this info :-(

I have 2 questions:

1- Does anybody know the free length (spec) for the valve springs on the 1991 fc501?

2- Does anyone know the part numbers and/or where to buy OEM or upgraded valve springs for this motor?

Thanks,

Jason

you won't find the originals now but you can fit a set of dual springs which I think are the same as what you have in it now?

there are plenty of threads here on the subject of "DVSK".

Hey there Big berg

the best way to do this is to measure the valve springs force at their current installed length and aim for around 70Lbs to be safe, Ive tried 60 on some Kibblewites that gave me a tiny bit of valve float at really high rpm

if you post up the spring specs, free length, wire diameter and coil counts in Faust's thread

http://husaberg.org/mechanical/10680-all-about-valve-springs-nice-pics.html

i can make an estimate of the rate and let you know how much preload they need as a minimum.

i think you would know if they were too loose as you'd get valve float

I have never ran the bike and figured that with its age and having the head apart I should measure the springs and/or replace.

Thanks,

Jason
