I am about to test a rod kit in a FE501e from 2002. it's my bike so I am the guinea pig here aren't I! the rod will fit all Husaberg 501s from 2001-2005 generation.

The rods run a little end bush and come complete with big end pin and bearing.

cost will be 220GBP plus VAT which is 264GBP in the EU.

the rods are 122.5mm and lose 0.5mm on standard. however, I have found a piston that is 0.5mm taller than the 501 so it all works out fine! the piston will be our usual 'standard' piston price of 133.33gbp plus VAT or 160gbp inside the EU.

as for thew 550, well I have absolutely no doubt that it is alsoup to the job. both rods have the same redline and piston weight so in theory the job is the same. but the 550 is a lot more oversquare and likely to go to its redline more often.....

so I'm sticking to saying that the rod is being tested on my 501, will be proved on my 501 and I'm selling it in 5 weeks time for the 501.

regards

Good thing I sold my 550... If that rod works out... Maybe I should have kept it Haha.

Oh well, thanks for the good news!

well, we finally started the 501 yesterday and it didn't throw the rod! so we're safe at Idle!!!!!!

we had to plead and plead again for the stepped pin to be done and it arrived about two weeks ago. in the meantime I had the frame powder coated and we will have completed our work today.

MOT it next week and then we give it a right good thrashing!!!!!!

so we're getting close!

I've done 150 miles today on an undergeared 501 and thrashed it everywhere and been clearly riding through the redline (if there was one!). rod kit is excellent.

we go to production this week!

let you know when they are ready OK?

Hello Gery

not initially, no. you should be pleased that we have a solution to your problem though!

this FE501e flies BTW, I was on 16 x 49 and am looking to take 2 off the rear for 16 x 47 which for the dirt can be 13 x 50 and I don't have to adjust the chain!

we are also about to do some jet development for the dell orto carb which I'm excited about!

Gery

were you asking for the standard big and pin and bearing or the stepped one I have needed to make for this rod kit? I won'tsell the stepped one seperately but will of course a standard one.

i'll tell you what - yup, I will!

the idea of profit with no warranty is a dream come true for me so yes, contact me with an e-mail on Monday.

that goes along with a few customers that have had £1,000 of work done and not paid me £10 at the end. I LOVE it! I wish everyone did it.

as they run off without paying the money I say to myself under my breath: ".....and bang goes your warranty you idiot, what a muppet!"
