Hello everyone,

im a bit new at this so any help or tips woulf be much aprriciated!

i wanted a husaberg for a long time now, and now its a good time for me to get one, so i went to my local dealer.
He still has some stock 570 and the 2013 501. i've read excellent reviews on both bikes so im looking for any differences to make my choice. i want a bike that can compine enduro/offroad power, road power with the super moto kit and a nice adventure bike. i was also wondering does the road legal 570 which comes with lights/traficators exc is less powerful than the enduro 570? are there any differences between them? does the road legal version comes with map switching buttons and stuff?

looking forward to hear some info? thanks!

I haven't tried the new 2013 501... But I own a 2011 FE570S street legal. If I can convice you, buy a 570:

- Way more power than a 501: 565cc vs 501 cc for the 2013
- Higher air box: cleaner air filter all the time
- Higher ground cleareance: at least 25 mm from the specs
- Amazing handling: nuff said !!!
- A true Husaberg... Not a blue KTM as the 2013 is...
- And the list goes on...

I tried the 2012 KTM 500 which is the same as the 2013 Husaberg 501. It's a good bike for sure, but not a 570 !

I hope this helps !!!

haven't tried a 501 and biased as all hell toward my fe570 which is the love of my life. the 2012 model had the few niggling issues with fuel pumps etc all sorted out and have proven very reliable and go for ages before any work needs doing e.g. some guys report 15000 miles and the valves still don't need adjustment. it will take a while to see if the new generation kato engines used in the 2013 bergs prove to be as bullet proof.

as for the extra displacement, the extra grunt is great if you want to use it as a light adventure bike too.

trying to be objective though, the reports on the 2013 say the few lbs shaved off the engine weight make a difference. and they reckon the new model has its weight more toward the front so less likely to wheelie (damn) and less skitterish at the front on cornering. if it was purely going to be a dirt bike that might make you go the 2013 model.

but if you want to do some adventure riding and road work i'd definitely go the 570. get a cush drive hub on the motard wheels, she'll be much smoother and your gearbox will love you. the thread below covers the known issues and common mods.

Probably not quiet the answer your looking for but I bought a 2012 FE 570 & it is undoubtably the best dirt bike I've ever owned, & actually the best I've ridden. So can't comment on the 501 ( actual 510ccs ) but did own a KTM 530 a few years back which is also 510cc engine & it didn't have anything like the sheer grunt of the 570 ( 565cc ) power plant in the berg so my vote is go the 570 iam confident you won't regret it.

Another vote for the 570, awesome bike, the FE 570 and 450 won three consecutive Australasin dirt bike of the year awards and it doesn't take long to realise why when you first throw a leg over one. :bounce3:

The 570 will do all those things you ask. The road legal version is not watered down, what map switching are you after an ignition map or map for navigating ?

cool! and you can blame us if you are unhappy with it in any way. let the love affair commence...

I don`t own a 570 but I have been reading along here and I have to throw in my 2 cents. Over the years I have rode and owned many dirt bikes. From Hodaka Super Rats to Kawasaki`s to Honda`s to Suzuki`s. All of them smaller CC bikes. A few years ago I moved up to a 450 Berg. Unbelievably Awesome! That`s the only way to describe the feeling of having so much power to play with. Two years ago I had the chance to move up again to a 550. Once again the difference was incredible.
I am just a little guy at 5 foot 8, and 160 lbs. I can`t ride near as fast as the bike is capable of but let me tell you I will never want less power. When I get in over my head I just twist the throttle and hang on until I am out of trouble. The only way I will ever get rid of this bike is when I am so old that I can not push it out of the barn.
I have never rode a 570, but believe me, I probably want one even more than you do. Some day maybe.
But you have a choice so go for the 570 and you will never regret it. Just be prepared because you will be smiling for the rest of your life.
