hello all, Im not new to bikes but im new to husaberg, I bought a project 501 with the wiring in a mess. Is anyone on here familiar with the bike 03 d 78078. The stator has been worked on because it is covered in some sort of paint. Does anyone in ireland or anywhere have a spare coil i could try or would like to try mine , I will cover costs. I have read on here about checking the stator, do i put the red on multimeter on each wire , red , black and green with the black multimeter earthed. THANKS

the stator isn't covered in paint friend, it is called 'potting' and is poured in so it can't vibrate to bits.
use a multimeter and on ohms at the first setting (200) check green to black for 170 ohms. this will likely be ok.
click to 20k and try red to black which is meant to be 2,700ohms and is likely going to be zero.
if that is the result, there's no need to check your coil.
if toast, get a new one from me is the best bet.

thanks for the reply, Does that mean it has been repaired at some stage, I will check with multimeter and get back.
ya i checked the stator and got 169 on the green to black and got 1100 to 1300 on the red to black. How do i put photos up here, i have a very interesting looking stator
