What is the future for the 550 engine? Mine is few ours after rebuild, but i am looking forward.
Is there any posibility to swap the rod from other bike?
Put in the 650 engine (the rod and liner are still available?)?
I do not want to think about swaping an engine from diffrrent brand.

at present i have sourced another rod but I need a special pin making and the man is slow to price this pin.
you can't really put anything in from a 650 I'm afraid.
it may come back into stock soon. items do quite often until they reach 10 years old. so you should really be able to get this rod for two more years+.

these rod kits for the 501s are now available. I have thrashed the tits off my 2003 FE501e for the last three weekends on the road in SM trim and gone for top speed whilst jetting it.
there's no vibration increase (the rod is the same weight but there is a slight shift by 10 grammes from bottom to top.
get in touch about these kits. I haven't put them up for sale yet because I need to hold them in stock and to do that I need to pay for them!!! any day now.

here are the first images of our rod kit for the 501s 2001-2005.
you can see the oil feed holes both 'in' and 'out'.
the rod is slightly heavier at the little end but then the piston is lighter.
the big end of the rod is slightly heavier but the pin is lighter.

balance is as standard.
thrashing it on my 501 still. so happy to sell it now. NOT happy to fit it to a 550.
the rod is 0.5mm shorter than the Husaberg item but we have pistons that are 0.5mm taller so ....... all is well again!
