looking into playing with the engine, now as i am aware 470cc is 62 stroke 100mmbore,can you put a longer stroke crank like a 70mm in the std 92mm bore of the 400 to give 470cc? anyone done it

the 470 is 100 x 60, the 400 is 92 x 60. none of the husaberg engines like being stroked. the only way i can see it working is with a JBS kind of "head/block". whatever husaberg you have the stroke stays.

you can fit a 2-3 mm off-centre big end and fit a 450 rod. that would work. engine hardwear holds them.

have thought a while about a 400 to 470 conversion, but now have traded the 400 for a 550 engine.
Which I am currently rebuilding+tuning (will contact you about the tuning goods Taffy)

There was too much into changing the 400 to 470 (lowering compression bigger valves etc etc)

i was lucky for a customer lately!

he had a mint 400 and another customer had a trashed 470. so they swopped bits with the 470 owner having a cheap rebuild to a 400 and the 400 owner having a 470 that needed all the usual service items in a rebuild anyway.

you van't always say; "everyone was happy!".
